I wonder how I was so motivated during my first half marathon. Perhaps the thrill of it? Perhaps I was just bored and had nothing else to do? Perhaps it was the summer?
I am so not motivated to run it's almost comical.
I'm at my heaviest weight, I hate the winter, I don't have any urge to run WHATSOEVER.
The MORE half is April 3rd. I am ridiculous amounts behind and I know when that happens all you need to do it stick to a schedule and GO, but I'm finding that to be oh so dificult with an increasingly challenging work schedule and a very demanding life in general. I have my plan for the week in terms of running- I will run tonight, I will run Friday, I will run Sunday, but its somewhat dificult to be able to lay that all out. I feel as if I am struggling and it's unclear why I am struggling. Perhaps having a blog and being more accountable will help if I start really writing again. Perhaps just sticking to the schedule (which I have btw and it's not that aggresive, given that I have that base we all need- it might not be a super active base but I have the lung capactiy and general aerobic capacity- that's for sure. I could go out and run 6m right now which I feel is 'good enough' I think inherently my problem is I really dislike winter. I do not handle lack of sunshine well and when you couple it with the insane stress at work and longer hours, its a cluster-F.
How do I motivate myself again?
Let's try accountability. Hold me to it. Yell at me (but be nice when it doesnt work for real reasons!) and the like, come on! I'm begging you!!
sunday- (past-idc I'm writing about it) Kettlehell
Monday- skip. It wasnt a rest day. It was a legit skip/rearrange, happens, right?
Tuesday- run 4m
Wednesday- Weights if I can wake up, otherwise rest day
Thursday- Spin in the am (would have to be 615 spin so perhaps I am kidding myself)
Friday- run in the pm- 3-4m (will be running with someone faster- so will be like a tempo run)
Saturday- yoga and weights
Sunday- run- 5-6m depending on weather
Monday- something and spa day. YUM

BUMMER!
I didnt know about the Cupid 5k in Riverside park this weekend. WHAT A BUMMER! Part of the reason I moved to the UWS was to be closer to running activiites. After we moved I've promptly stopped running. Honest.
UGH.
Need to get out there.... MORE Half is in 6 weeks. YIKES. I've been running 2-3x a week 2-3m. WHOOPS.

Kettlebell? More like Kettlehell...
Well my friends after a week that ended up being more busy than I had even imagined, I ended up only going to the gym Monday, Saturday and Sunday. Tuesday I had my foot fried which cut out Tuesday, Wed and Thurs... by Friday I could walk again decently and didnt have super swollen foot by day end. I got home from work at 9 on Friday, after getting in at 730. I chose crackers cheese and wine over the gym. Sue me.
Saturday I did 20 min on the elliptical, foot felt iffy, then did 20 min of weights. Then Sunday, I did a kettleball class. I LOVED it. Today, my legs and sides hurt. In an awesome sore way. I will return for sure.
I am out in CA (as of this am) for work. I hate the time change, I hate the planes and how dehydrated I always feel. I hate how tired I am when it's only 530 PST time. We have meetings tomorrow am at 930 (so will feel like 1230) so I have the Equinox schedule in my blackberry. I don't feel like venturing there today, however, I might venture to the hotel gym just to do some elliptical and get my body moving. No chance I can run which is quite funny. I more than likely will do another hour or so of work and then work out... then eat... then work some more... we shall see. Being busy is great, being too busy, not so great.
My plan tomorrow is spin (dependent on when I wake up), if not, hotel gym. Then Wednesday treadmill running or weights... no early yoga class- bummer. Thursday I will be in LA. I'm dying for a run on the beach- YAY!
Nothing else to report. Clearly I am not on my running track this week. Perhaps that will motivate me to run 2 m tonight!!! Then 3 or so Thursday am and Saturday/Sunday I can run a loop of the park. The half is in like 7 weeks. Problematic. Not motivated. YIKES!

Bummer of Bad News
Eff the bearer, I'm the bummer. I honestly have no positive blogging news. No PR's, no great workouts, nothing great to say except I didnt slip on my way to work today. I also, only walked to the corner, hailed a cab, and then walked like 20 steps to our bldg door. I did, however, compliment a kid in the elevator on her umbrella (Hello Kitty and so precious!) and stupidly asked her if she thought I fit under it with her, which caused her to try and open it and have the mother almost kill me. YIKES. I need to learn some mom things quick before I get the boot from the UWS.
Let's see. Well, perhaps the good news will start next week in CA. Unclear.
Right now I have a burnt up foot (yes, again!) but I'm hoping (as is the podiatrist) that this will be the last time. The last burning did wonders, so hopefully this will be the same. I am wearing running sneaks to work (terrible looking but super functional) as not doin gso last time almost crippled me. Hobbling is the worst.
No workout yesterday, today and most likely not tomorrow as I'll be travelign up to Boston for the day. GROSS.
Positive news: The groundhog didnt see his shadow. I'll take anything to believe Spring is on the way :) I love my Hunters but I've used them more than I ever use snowboots in the winter!
Happy hump day!

They never said it'd be easy.
So yea, Fell off a bit last week. Monday and Tuesday I was in Boston for work, working like a nut job. Wednesday and Thursday I worked out (Wednesday run, Thursday I have no idea). Friday I had an early ass meeting in CT and then was so busy and then had a headache (pressure? atmosphere?). Saturday I did Jillian and Sunday I was sick to my stomach (onions, don't ask) before my workout (planned) so I canned it.
This am I had time for 2.5m on the treadmill. Hardly a workout but I'm counting it as one.
Tomorrow's plan is weights in the am. I have dinner in the pm. Wednesday is more of the same but I will also squeeze in a run during work- Hallelujah. Thursday its back up to Boston so it might be an off day.
Friday will be a run. Then we'll see. I need to do weights and run and do yoga between Sat and Sun. I am signed up for the Gridiron but may do dinner with freinds Sat night so might just run on my own on Saturday or Sunday.
I leave Monday for SFO/LAX for the week. I have the Equinox schedule downloaded already. I will workout. I am most looking forward to my Thursday am run on the beach in Santa Monica- OH YEEA!!!! Highlight of next week for sure!!!
There are still 9 full weeks before the half marathon. i still think I have enough time to get some speedwork under my belt and to be OK distance wise. I havent been running a ton but when I do I have no problem witht he distance, just the getting started. As long as I run say 2,4,5 this week I should be OK.

Long time between posts
Well, the resolutioners are still going strong- its pretty impressive I must say. Good for them. We're a healthy bunch here on the UWS.
I've ran a few times since the 19th... maybe 2x? 3x? I finally ran 3x last week which felt great. Was a super stressful time at work. I've been working ridiculous hours (12-13-14 etc) with no mental breaks etc. There has been some drama too so its been uber exhausting. To add to it I've been traveling so it's been a lot. I've been sticking to it and made it to the gym 5x last week, 3 running, 2 yoga and did weights once. They weren't the most quality workouts but they were workouts nonetheless.
This weeks plan:
Mon & Tues- I was in Boston, busy, no workouts, meeting all day!!!
Wednesday- I meant to run but the good treadmills were taken. I ran/walked up hills for 28 minutes and then did the ARC trainer for 12 minutes. I meant to stretch yet all the Resolutioners were hogging the stretch areas. Instead I did nothing and walked home and started this.
Thursday- Up early for weights :) ARMS and ABS and some other cardio circuit things. We shall see. I'm on a tight time schedule as I have to be at work relatively early.... so we shall see.
The remainder of the week is up in the air because I go and get my foot cut up tomorrow. Well we'll see. I can't tell if its better/worse, idk. So we'll see. If the foot is fine then Saturday will be running/spin, Sunday will be yoga and Friday will be spin and or weights. If my foot is cut up, then Friday will be stretch/arms/abs and Saturday might be rest with Sunday being something not stressful- we shall see. I am traumatized from last time when I really hurt my leg after hobbling all over. We shall see.
Running plans:
Next wkd: Gridiron- except now I am meant to go out to dinner Saturday night. UGH.
Weight/Eating
Weight is up/steady. I think stress isnt helping. Eating has been OK but I need to start the clean biz again.
